Corrosion under pipe supports (CUPS) is a common and potentially damaging mechanism in industrial facilities, historically challenging to accurately quantify. Amerapex uses Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) to collect high-resolution data across the entire support area. The collected data is processed through cloud-based analysis software, which evaluates the sound energy loss and the angle(s) of sound propagation to accurately quantify the remaining pipe wall thickness under supports.

This approach provides reliable, quantitative results, enabling facility operators to make informed maintenance decisions while minimizing downtime and inspection costs.
