Confined Space: Planning, Attendants, and Rescue/Response
Planning
- Our planning procedure and site evaluation are customized to each job, ensuring the right protocols, precautions, training and personnel are in place to keep jobsites and workers safe. This step includes creation of an onsite rescue plan, which is created specifically to address the unique features of each project and is designed for immediate implementation, should the need arise.
Attendants:
- Our Confined Space Attendants (Hole Watch Personnel) are trained and qualified under the Amerapex Confined Space Program. Each attendant understands his/her critical role as the first line of defense in continued Space Safety Management. Maintain visual and verbal contact with entrants Monitor atmospheric readings and entry permits Control entry/exit logs and communication systems Initiate emergency procedures in coordination with standby rescue teams
Rescue/Response:
- In the event that unacceptable conditions arise or a risk is identified, the onsite rescue team is immediately alerted and implements the pre-determined onsite rescue plan, including managing shutdowns, bringing on additional teams/support and alerting emergency services, if necessary.
Emergency Response Readiness and Communication Support
- Integration with confined space and hot work operations
- All attendants are trained in SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and SAR (Supplied Air Respirator) operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA 1910, 134, and Amerapex Safety Standards
