POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal Financial Analyst has a background in financial analysis and evaluates investment information to provide advisory recommendations for buying, selling, and holding liquid assets. The analyst will effectively perform market-specific research and work directly with Executive Management to identify investment opportunities for the company.
JOB DUTIES:
- Collect information, perform research, and analyze company assets (applicable stocks, bonds, currencies, and commodities).
- Expand knowledge base on specific industries where the company resides to effectively isolate classes of assets; Assets to be used in investment opportunities.
- Prepare and present market research to Executive Management and key stakeholders for insights on future investment decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and investment team members to decipher investment strategies.
- Continuously collect and interpret data, such as company financial statements, market fluctuations, current adjustments, and price developments.
- Gather data on macro-economic developments, politics, climate changes, natural disasters, emerging industries, and service sectors; Variables that may impact the company’s investment viability.
- Create working relationships with a network of external subject matter experts for validation of information and research purposes, brokers, fund managers, traders, other analysts, etc.
- Detect market trends early and correlations; Find ways to capitalize on those trends and advise Executive Management.
- Respond expeditiously to sudden market changes and provide timely feedback through sound judgment while under pressure.
- Use predictive modeling and computer tech-savvy approaches to forecast investment outcomes.
EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or related business field.
- MUST LOVE NUMBERS and EXCEL.
- 3-4 years of experience in finance, business professional, or analyst capacity.
- Oil and gas, manufacturing, petrochemical technical services, or similar industry experience a plus.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills in dynamic corporate settings with senior management; Able to articulate information within short deadlines.
- Strong MS PowerPoint and Excel skills preferred; Presentation skills with graphs, charts, and data illustrations to convey convincing recommendations
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification a plus.
