POSITION SUMMARY:

The ideal Accounts Receivable Clerk processes inbound accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures. Performs daily transactions by verifying, ensuring accurate classifications, posting, and recording receivables’ data.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Process incoming payments and accounts to post accurate receivables data.
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
  • Reconcile the A/R ledger to validate all payments are accounted for and accurately posted.
  • Be the A/R arm of the accounting team to field discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitate and schedule invoice payments owed by clients; Proactively contact clients and send billing reminders.
  • Research past due accounts and collaborate with finance and operations management to reconcile accounts on a periodic basis.
  • Identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent account holders for payment.
  • Generate billing and financial statements with accounts receivable status details.
  • Assist Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts monthly.
  • Calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Create client status reports for management to review and further action.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer files.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable role.
  • In-depth working knowledge of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
  • Knowledge of operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and accounting software; NetSuite or comparable ERP system.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills in a dynamic office setting with the ability to articulate information within short deadlines.
  • Ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams in corporate administration, finance, accounting, field services, and HR.
