Employee Spotlight: Dusty Gonzales
At Amerapex, safety is always our top priority. This is why we go above and beyond to recognize team members of ours who put safety in action.
Amerapex recognizes Dusty Gonzales for his safe work practices and good catch! Dusty was performing UTT’s in the VCM Unit at a jobsite when he noticed the area he was permitted to inspect was barricaded with yellow barricade tape and tags noting hazards of a Caustic Leak. Dusty stopped an Operations Personnel to confirm if the area was safe to make entry and stated he would need to update his permit and HIRA/JSA to reflect any changes. The operator stated the area should NOT be entered and quickly replaced the yellow barricade tape with red tape, as well as proper “Do Not Enter” danger tags. Dusty also reported the occurrence with Amerapex HSP.
Dusty’s actions exemplify what we strive to achieve in Hazard Recognition, Stop Work Authority, and Brother’s Keeper mentality. His actions helped protect himself as well as others that may have come in contact with Caustic Acid that day. Amerapex rewarded Dusty with a $50 gift card to say “Thank you, Dusty! Keep up the great work!”
